We haven't disappeared...
So many of you have been saying that I haven't written in awhile. Life here has been hectic. Let's begin with almost 3 weeks ago when Camden came down with the flu (he DID get a flu shot in Nov). Those were a rough few days. Then when he was on the mend (about a week later), Amy got sick. She thought it was no big deal and rested for a day, and then went right back to work and normal life, two days later she was REALLY sick and now almost 2 weeks later is just beginning to feel better. The day after Amy woke up sick, Kevin started mentioning some pains in his side/back/abdomen. He toughed it out for 4 days (mostly to teach Sunday School and finish a project for work) and then told Amy, "OK - take me to the ER.". After several hours of tests to rule out appendicitis (sp) and gall bladder issues, they decided it could have been kidney stones, but the next step to make the final call was a VERY costly CAT scan. Kevin opted out of this and just took soem pain meds and came home. So far a week later he has been pain free for a few days. In the midst of all this, Camden has decided to pretty much give up nap time each day. He still sits in his room and entertains himself for a couple hours, but gone are the days of 2.5 hours of quiet time/mad rush to get things done while he sleeps each day. He only wants his door open, so there is little you can do near his room that doesn't illicit his curiosity. He has also begun having nightmares and waking up scared a crying all through the night. A night where he sleeps from 8:30 PM to 5 AM is WONDERFUL!!!! We have had a couple mornings he didn't wake until 7 AM, but we are having our share of nights where mom and dad take turns going in to comfort him all through the night. The record one night was 9 trips into his room. All this to say, that keeping the blog updated (and even trying to take pictures) has been a thought of the past. Hopefully we are all beginning to improve and we will start to post better updates about Baby MacKenna and other issues from everyday life. Till then - ...
